BGZ (Zoltán G. Bereczky) - Music, Original Idea and Concept


He first got on stage at the age of six in Arthur Lakner's Children's Theatre in Budapest, Hungary. As a child, he sang in multiple operas in the Hungarian State Opera House and in Erkel Theatre as well. At the same time he was cast in the Hungarian stage production of Oliver! the musical in Madách Theater, where – under the guidance of choreographer László Seregi – he became fond of dancing.

Later on in Madách, he played in several Hungarian musicals as well as big Broadway productions like Les Misérables and The Producers.
He got cast in the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's reworked version of The Beautiful Game (Volt egyszer egy csapat – in Hungarian), where he was an understudy for the leading role John. He also played the title role of Emperor Nero in the Hungarian hit musical, Nero and the Starmakers at the Petőfi Theatre in Veszprém. Currently he is in the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar revival in Madách.

His classical acting credits include Edward, Prince of Wales and Marquess of Dorset in Shakespeare's Richard III at Karinthy Theater in Budapest.

As a dancer, he recently participated in the new Hungarian musical movie Made in Hungária and in the concert celebrating Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's 60th birthday in the Palace of Arts, Budapest, where the famous composer himself also made an appearance.

He started playing the piano and composing music at age 7. He was 16 when he wrote his first musical (Keve Kata, book and lyrics by Mihály Kal Pintér), which got premiered in the same year. Csillagok Krónikája, his second musical co-written with Mihály Kal Pintér had its premiere on Madách Theatre's Studio Stage when he was 21.

He has also composed music for various movie and stage productions as well.




Mihály Kal Pintér - Co-Writer


He is part of the creative staff of Hungary's most popular commercial television channel (RTL Klub) and radio channel (Radio1), and the author of many TV and Radio shows from 1999 to present day.

He is also the publicist of various women's magazines and political daily papers.

He wrote multiple musical and prosaic pieces including 'Melyiket a kilenc közül', 'Keve Kata', 'Csillagok krónikája' and 'Houdini'.

He has released poems in Élet és Irodalom (Life and Literature), a highly recognized weekly newspaper in Hungary, and has published a poem book called Szösszentő Ámor in 2002. He has also written songs for many Hungarian bands, and he was the winner in the Dalnokok Ligája's (Bards' League - TV show) lyricist category in 2004.

At the request of Sylvia Sass, he wrote an opera libretto for Alberto Santana's La Diva.

He performs his prosaic pieces with his own company called Scene Medias Res. His play, Tragikabaré – written exclusively for his own company – was awarded by the Hungarian Literature Academy.




Mária Harangi - Director


Mária Harangi was born on the 15th of November, 1975 in Pécs.
After graduating from ELTE University as a Hungarian-French major, she studied musical directing under Miklós Szinetár at the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest. She debuted at the Hungarian State Opera with Levente Gyöngyösi's Gólyakalifa (The StorkCaliph). She has received the Critics' Choice Award for directing Avenue Q in Central Theater, Budapest.

Besides her theatrical works, she also does coaching for Hungary's Got Talent (Csillag Születik - in Hungarian) TV series on RTL Klub this year.

Ákos Tihanyi - Choreographer


He started dancing at the age of 14. He graduated as a ballet dancer from the High School of Performing Arts in Pécs, Hungary. He continued his dancing career abroad after he spent a year at Madách Theater. He has danced in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Japan, all the while working with world-renowned choreographers like Gillian Lynne or Ann Reinking, the creative assistant of Bob Fosse.

He danced in Cats (original West End production in Stuttgart, choreographed by Gillian Lynne; and in Budapest, choreographed by László Seregi), in Tanz Der Vampire (Dance with Vampires, in Berlin, Stuttgart, Wien, Budapest, choreographed by Dennis Callehen, directed by Roman Polanski). Also in Elisabeth (Vienna), Footloose (Vienna, Klagenfurt), and The Wild Party (Vienna, Amstetten) all choreographed by Dennis Callehen.

He was a solo dancer in the European and Japanese tours of the original Broadway production 'Fosse' – the show, choreographed by Ann Reinking. After 'Fosse' he got cast in the European revival of the original Broadway production 'Chicago' in Utrecht and Düsseldorf, directed by Rob Marshall and choreographed by Ann Reinking.

His first choreography on the big stage was 'Volt egyszer egy csapat' (the reworked version of A. L. Webber's The Beautiful Game) in Madách Theater, Hungary, which was described as one of the most well danced productions of Webber's musical works ever – by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber himself.

After the success of 'Volt egyszer egy csapat', he choreographed several, non-replica productions of original Broadway and West End shows in Hungary and also the concert celebrating Lord Webber's 60th birthday in the Palace of Arts, Budapest.
